Slim Chance play Ronnie Lane
Slim Chance, the band formed by Small Faces and Faces anchor man Ronnie Lane is making waves on the circuit with a show which celebrates Ronnie’s rich musical legacy in style.
The band – Charlie Hart, Steve Simpson, Alun Davies, Steve Bingham and Colin Davey – all recorded and performed with Ronnie back in the day and are recognized as “64 carat musicians”.
Collectively their credits include Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Paul Weller, Kilburn & The High Roads, Roger Chapman, Dave Gilmour, Geno Washington, Pete Townshend, Ralph McTell, Mick Jagger, Eric Bibb, Roger Daltrey and more.
The show features well known songs such as How Come, The Poacher, Ooh La La, and Debris as well as other equally strong Lane classics, such as Anymore for Anymore and One for the Road.
The reborn Slim Chance – “reformed but unrepentant”, joined by their special guests Geraint Watkins and Nick Pentelow, released their first album – The Show Goes On – in May 2012: “showing uncanny empathy with Ronnie’s joie de vivre spirit…” “…beautifully played and clearly delivered with much love,” enthused Uncut magazine.
Eventually the band hope to recreate the Passing Show, Ronnie’s renowned travelling circus that gave its name to the acclaimed BBC documentary DVD on Ronnie’s life and music.
Right now, encouraged by fans in Britain and all round the world, the band is out there enthusiastically playing the circuit and gaining a new audience. The Show Goes On!
